T. Ebrahimi

T. Ebrahimi is a Titular Professor at EPFL. His main activity is in R&D and teaching in the field of media technologies and interactivity.

Other activities:

– Member of the advisory board for NTT DoCoMo USALabs (USA), PacketVideo (USA), Compression Science (USA), Genista (Japan), MPEG-4 Registration Authority (France), EndeavourAdvisors (Switzerland)

– Expert at the European Commission for Research Programs in IT

– Head of Swiss Delegation to SC29, MPEG and JPEG. Chairman and active contributor to various technical groups in these committees

– Associate Editor for Transactions on Image Processing (IEEE), Optical Engineering Magazine (SPIE), and Image Communication Journal (EURASIP)

– Chairman of the board and Principal Scientific Advisor at Genimedia SA (Switzerland)

– Consultant to various companies in the field of Information Technology

Achievements:

– Over 100 chapters and articles in Books, Scientific Journals and Conference Proceedings

– Inventor or co-inventor of 10 patents

– Initiator or active participant in over 30 national and international R&D programs (Fundamental research – FNRS, EC projects, CTI projects, Industrial projects, …)
