Th. Varelas, General Manager, Theta S.A.
A native of Athens, Greece, Mr. Varelas received his Dipl. Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Patras, Greece in 1990 and his M.Eng degree from Carleton University in 1992. Mr. Varelas joined Theta in August of 1999 and, as General Manager of Theta S.A., is currently responsible for all operations of this subsidiary — focusing on design, process and systems engineering leadership.
Prior to joining Theta, Mr. Varelas was a co-founder and held various telecommunication RFIC design and engineering management positions at Philsar Electronics. He also has experience as a research engineer at Carleton University and worked for over three years as a consultant to Northern Telecom (NORTEL Networks).
