John Kikidis

Strategic Marketing Manager in Optical-Networking Components Division, Communications Infrastructure Group, Intel Corporation. Responsible for the strategic assessment of worldwide market segments, emerging technologies and intellectual property needed for the optical high speed physical layer silicon devices, driving Intel’s High Speed Physical layer roadmap products and participating in fibre optical communication standards and advanced architecture efforts. Author for 1 pending patent, he is from July 2000, Intel’s representative in Study Group 15 of the International Telecommunications Union Telecommunications (ITU-T) standardization activities, regarding Optical Transport Network (OTN) and SDH and Ethernet technologies in the public network. Since July 2003 he also attends the Optical Internetworking Forum standardization efforts. From mid 1999 through 2000, he was Business Development Manager for GiGA Hellas S.A., a GiGA A/S company that was acquired by Intel in March 2000, driving the establishment of the Greek site as GiGA A/S’ systems engineering design centre chartered into in creating line card reference designs that utilized GiGA A/S’s optical physical and framer products. From 1992 through mid 1999, he was Head of Telematics and Information Systems Division then Business Development Manager in Synergy Systems SA, heading its systems engineering efforts in advanced technologies within the areas of electronics, telematics and information systems. He got his Diploma in Electrical Engineering, from the Telecommunications and Electronics Division, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece, in 1990. Born in 1967, married with 2 children. When not traveling he is working out of home in Patras, Greece.
